Immigration law can be complicated and, in many cases, it seems that the system heavily favors the government.   It is important to understand that a deportation order is not a final decision and that you have an opportunity to fight this order. A strong defense is essential when you have a hearing with the Board of Immigration Appeals in order to ensure that you have taken every possible step to improve your chances of remaining in the United States.  

 

There are a variety of defenses available, depending on the specific circumstances. We may be able to file for a cancellation of removal if you have been in the United States for a long enough period of time, or we may be able to claim asylum if you are in the country to avoid persecution or violence in your home country.
